Sardarshahar is city located, near Churu city in the Churu district of Rajasthan, India. It is also the seat of the Rajasthan legislative assembly. The city is named after Sardar Singh, Maharaja of Bikaner. It is known for grand Havelis (mansions) with frescoes, the only Clock Tower (Ghanta Ghar) in Asia with passage open on 4 sides (24/7hrs), Ichha Purna Balaji Mandir, Acharya Shri Mahapragya Samadhi Sthal-(Shanti Peeth), Gandhi Vidya Mandir, Somnath Mandir and many more. It is famous for its Food (especially sweets), handicraft work, silver work and woodwork. Muslime bilden mit einem Anteil von ca. 31 % eine Minderheit. Sardarshahar liegt 285 Kilometer von der Bundeshauptstadt Jaipur und 56 Kilometer vom Distrikthauptquartier Churu entfernt. Es verfügt über ein eigenes RSRTC-Busdepot, das hier seit 1976 in Betrieb ist. Es ist auch über eine Eisenbahnlinie mit Ratangarh verbunden. (de)
