The Sacramento Kings is an American professional basketball team based in Sacramento, California. They play in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). They began as the Rochester Royals (based in Rochester, New York) in the Basketball Association of America (forerunner of the NBA) in 1948. The Royals moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1957.
