- El Banco de Saba (en neerlandés: Sababank) se localiza en el Caribe Neerlandés, se trata del atolón submarino más grande en el océano Atlántico y tiene una de las más ricas diversidades en vida marina en el mar Caribe. En 2010 fue designado como el "Parque Nacional del Banco Saba",uno de los parques nacionales de los Países Bajos y fue reconocido oficialmente como tal en 2012. La parte nororiental del Banco de Saba se encuentra a unos 4,3 kilómetros al suroeste de la isla de Saba. Se levanta unos 1000 m sobre las profundidades generales del fondo del mar circundante. Con una longitud de 60 a 65 km y un ancho de 30 a 40 km, la superficie total del atolón es de aproximadamente 2200 km², con una profundidad que va desde 11 hasta 200 metros y con 1600 km² en los cuales la profundidad es de 50 m. - Saba Bank in the Caribbean Netherlands is the largest submarine atoll in the Atlantic Ocean and has some of the richest diversity of marine life in the Caribbean Sea. In 2010 it was designated as "Saba Bank National Park", one of the National Parks of the Netherlands and was officially recognized as such in 2012. The National Park was established to provide protection to the biodiversity of the bank. The marine life there consists of humpback whales, sea turtles, over 200 species of fish, and many kinds of sea birds. The bank is highly valued to other close reefs, acting as a source of coral larvae and fish that then spread throughout nearby coral reefs in the region. In the past, the bank has been damaged by anchors from ships and tankers while loading oil, and began to deteriorate in color and size. The Saba Bank, several kilometers to the south of the island of Saba, covers more than 2,400 km2 (930 sq mi) and is therefore the largest protected nature area in the Netherlands. The bank lies completely underwater and is important from both a biological and economic perspective. (en)
