Rugoloa is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Poaceae. Its native range stretches from Mexico, down to southern tropical America, and is found in north-eastern Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Leeward Islands, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panamá, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Venezuela and Windward Islands. The genus was circumscribed by in Pl. Syst. Evol. vol.300 (10) on page 2164 in 2014.
