- Die Nationalstraße 13 ist mit 1.346 km die längste und ökonomisch wichtigste Straße in Laos. Sie beginnt als Fortsetzung der chinesischen Nationalstraße 213 und führt von Boten über Muang Xay, Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng, Vientiane, Pakxan, Thakhek, bei Savannakhet und Pakse nach Veun Kham an der kambodschanischen Grenze. Vor allem in Südlaos sowie entlang des Gebietes Si Phan Don (viertausend Inseln) verläuft sie zumeist in Mekong-Nähe. Außerdem führt diese Nationalstraße in der Präfektur Vientiane am neuen Nationalstadion von Laos sowie an allen drei internationalen Flughäfen in Laos vorbei: Flughafen Vientiane, Flughafen Luang Prabang und Flughafen Pakse. Zwischen Boten und Nateuy gehört die Nationalstraße 13 auf einer Länge von 20 km zum Kunming-Bangkok Expressway, der wiederum einen Teil des Asian Highway AH3 darstellt. Von Nateuy bis Vientiane ist die Nationalstraße 13 Teil des AH12, von Vientiane bis Veun Kham Teil des AH11. Seit 2018 ist die erste Autobahn in Laos dem Vientiane-Boten Expressway sowie seit 2016 die Bahnstrecke Boten–Vientiane im Bau die weitgehend parallel zur N13 verlaufen.

- La route nationale 13, ou plus simplement la route n° 13, est la plus longue et la plus importante du Laos du point de vue économique. Elle va de la Chine jusqu'au Cambodge, en longeant le Mékong sur une grande partie de son tracé. Dans les montagnes du nord, elle est généralement étroite (deux voies), avec des courbes serrées, et parfois en mauvais état. Au sud de Vientiane elle est beaucoup plus droite et moins accidentée. - Route 13 is the most important highway in Laos. It begins at Boten in northern Laos at the Chinese border. It connects the city of Vientiane to Luang Prabang in the north and roughly follows the line of the Mekong River down to the border with Cambodia. The road then continues at National Highway 7 in Cambodia. Route 13 passes the New Laos National Stadium at Vientiane prefecture and all three international airports in Laos Vientiane Airport, Luang Prabang Airport, and Pakse Airport. Between Boten and a 20 km segment of Route 13 is part of the Kunming-Bangkok Expressway, (Asian Highway AH3). From Nateuy to Vientiane, Route 13 is part of AH12 and from Vientiane to the border of Cambodia, AH11. It roughly parallels to Vientiane-Boten Expressway. Route 13 passes through the cities of Vientiane, Vang Vieng, Phoukhoune district where is intersection of Route 7 (Laos), and Luang Prabang. The road is mostly paved, though the pavement is in poor condition at places, it is relatively narrow with sharp curves and there are no markings or lighting on the road everywhere. Several daily buses run from Vientiane to Luang Prabang, taking 8–10 hours.

- La strada nazionale 13 (SN13), chiamata anche in inglese National Route 13, è la più importante strada statale del Laos essendone la spina dorsale della rete stradale. La statale spesso viene distinta in due sezioni, la SN13 Nord per il tragitto dalla capitale Vientiane fino alla Cina (671 km) e la SN13 Sud per il tragitto Vientiane-Cambogia (829 km). Ha inizio nel nord al valico di frontiera di Boten sul confine tra la Cina e il Laos da dove si sviluppa verso sud. Dopo aver attraversato i territori montuosi delle provincie di Luang Namtha, Oudomxay, Luang Prabang e Vientiane la statale tocca la prefettura della capitale inoltrandosi nell'agglomerato urbano. Dal centro città la strada nazionale 13 volge prima verso nord-est e poi di nuovo verso sud per seguire il corso del fiume Mekong, lungo la riva sinistra, fino al confine con la Cambogia. Nel suo tragitto la statale passa attraverso 10 delle 17 province del Laos, da tutti i centri ambitati più popolosi del paese e da tutti e tre gli aeroporti internazionali (VTE, , ). Nei pressi della capitale, con un raccordo di 20 km, la statale è stata collegata al primo ponte dell'amicizia thai-lao e quindi alla Thailandia, tale raccordo rappresenta il terzo collegamento internazionale fornito dalla strada nazionale 13. - 국도 제13호선(Route 13)은 루앙남타군에서 므앙콩까지 이어주는 총 연장 1,426 km의 거리를 가진 라오스의 일반 국도이다. 그러나 이 국도는 아시안 하이웨이의 3호선, 11호선, 12호선 그리고 15호선의 일부이기도 하며 공교롭게도 중화인민공화국과 캄보디아의 국경 지대를 기종점으로 삼는 국도 노선이기도 한다. 그리고 이 도로가 메콩강을 지나가게 되는 특성을 두고 있어, 캄보디아 국경선에서는 와도 접촉하고 있는 것으로 알려져 왔다. (ko)
