- قصر رغدان بناه الملك المؤسس عبد الله الأول بن الحسين، وهو أول صرح هاشمي في الأردن حيث كان يسكن أول أمره - لدى قدومه إلى مدينة عمان، في دار متواضعة من البناء العثماني مقابل المدرج الروماني، كما اتخذ رابية في منطقة ماركا مقراً لاستقبال الوفود وإقامة الاحتفالات. وبعد أن نجح الملك عبد الله الأول في مفاوضاته مع الإنجليز، والحصول على اعتراف بريطاني بحكومة مستقلة في شرق الأردن، عمد الملك عبد الله الأول سنة 1924م بالتزامن مع الإعمار الهاشمي الأول إلى اختيار مكاناً مرتفعاً يطلّ على وسط مدينة عمان ليبني فيه مقرّاً لقصر الحاكم، وسمّي القصر الجديد باسم رغدان، بمعنى الرغد والهناء وليكون مبعثاً للأمل والتفاؤل؛ كما أراد أن يكون تصميم بناء القصر متمتعاً بالفخامة والجماليات المتسمة بالبساطة ومنسجماً مع التاريخ العظيم لمدينة عمّان وتميز بنوافذ زجاجية ملونة على نمط المسجد الأقصى المبارك. Construido en 1926, la propiedad se convirtió en la residencia del rey Abdullah I, que pasaría a ordenar la construcción de varios palacios más en los alrededores. El palacio está construido en un estilo tradicional islámico, con rasgos inspirados en la mezquita de al-Aqsa en Jerusalén. La sala del trono Raghadan alberga varias ceremonias importantes, así como reuniones con los jefes de estado. - Raghadan Palace is a crown palace located in the Royal Court compound of Al-Maquar in Amman, Jordan. Constructed in 1926, the property became the residence of King Abdullah I who would go on to order the construction of several more palaces in the surrounding area. The palace is constructed in a traditional Islamic style, with colored glass windows modeled on the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Raghadan Palace is used for hosting meetings with visiting heads of state and for other ceremonial events, including the presentation and acceptance of new ambassadors' diplomatic credentials, and for replies to the speech from the throne following the state opening of Parliament. In 2006, for example, President George W. Bush met with King Abdullah II there. The palace cost £1,600 to build in 1926. It was renovated in the late 1980s following a fire in 1983. The current monarch does not live at the property. The palace is guarded by a ceremonial unit of Circassian guards, who also patrol the Basman Palace. An image of the palace appears on 50-dinar banknotes of the Jordanian dinar. (en)
