- Creo Elements/Direct Modeling ist ein professionelles 3D-CAD-Werkzeug der Parametric Technology Corporation. Die Entwicklung von Modeling startete Anfang der 1990er Jahre unter dem Namen Soliddesigner. Damals wurde die Entwicklung dieser Software unter Hewlett-Packard in einem Geschäftsbereich des Mutterkonzerns angestoßen. Bis November 2008 hieß das Produkt OneSpace Modeling, nach der vollständigen Integration der CoCreate Software GmbH wurde der Name zu CoCreate Modeling geändert. Ende Oktober 2010 wurde die neue Creo-Produktpalette vorgestellt und im selben Zug wurde die Software in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling umbenannt. Der Anwendungsbereich der Software Creo Elements/Direct Modeling ist im High-Tech-Maschinenbau und in der Elektroindustrie. Die Software verfolgt einen Ansatz des dynamischen Modellierens (Dynamic Modeling). In der 3D-Volumenmodellierung ist dies eine neue Herangehensweise, da diese Art der Modellierung ohne einen Modellentstehungsbaum auskommt. Damit hebt sich die Software von CAD-Systemen ab, die einen klassischen Ansatz der Modellierung verfolgen, bei dem eine Historie der angewandten Parameter auf das Modell im Konstruktionsprozess mitgeführt wird. Este es muy popular entre diseñadores mecánicos aunque un poco costoso, pero más económico que otros de su mismo rango como CATIA o . Una de las fortalezas de este software es la implementación de una suite para diseño mecánico, análisis de comportamiento (esfuerzos, térmicos, fatiga, eléctrico) y creación de archivos para la fabricación asistida por computadora. Creo Parametric should not to be confused with Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, which was CoCreate ME10 (2D) and or ME30 (3D) CAD Products. The ex-CoCreate CAD Products are now owned by PTC and offered as "Creo Elements/Direct Drafting" and Creo Elements/Direct Modling". Creo Parametric is an application of a suite of 10 that provide collaborative solid modeling, assembly modeling, 2D orthographic views, finite element analysis, parametric modeling, sub-divisional and NURBS surface modeling, Drafting, and NC and tooling functionality for mechanical designers. Creo Elements/Pro compete directly with CATIA, SolidWorks, NX/Solid Edge, Inventor/Fusion 360, IRONCAD, and Onshape. It was created by Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) and was the first of its kind to market. - Pro/ENGINEER adalah sebuah perangkat lunak desain yang dikeluarkan oleh Parametric Technology Corporation yang berbasis gambar 3 dimensi (memiliki massa, volume dan pusat gravitasi). Pro/ENGINEER merupakan pelopor perangkat lunak desain 3 dimensi yang memakai sistem parametrik. Artinya desain komponen terbentuk dari berbagai fitur dan referensi dan bentuk hubungan antar fitur tersebut. Untuk komponen akhir yang sama jika cara pemberian dimensi dan hubungan antar fitur berbeda maka akan menghasilkan bentuk komponen yang berbeda ketika suatu dimensi diubah. Gambar 3 dimensi bisa langsung digunakan untuk aplikasi perangkat lunak CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) dan CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing)dan CAD(cumputer aided design). Dengan aplikasi CAE maka bisa dilihat perilaku suatu komponen ketika mendapat gaya, pembebanan, perlakuan panas, dll. Dengan CAM bisa dilihat gerakan pahat yang harus dilakukan untuk membentuk komponen tersebut pada . Selanjutnya lintasan pahat tersebut bisa digunakan untuk membuat kode G dan kode M yang dipakai pada mesin CNC. - Pro/ENGINEER (znany również pod nazwą ProEngineer, ProE, Pro/E) to w pełni parametryczny zintegrowany system CAD\CAM\CAE\PDM\, szeroko rozpowszechniony w branży motoryzacyjnej. Producentem jest amerykańska firma PTC (Parametric Technology Corporation, PMTC). Był dostępny na platformy Windows/Windows x64/Unix/Linux/Solaris i procesory Intel/AMD/MIPS/UltraSPARC jednak producent sukcesywnie ogranicza liczbę wspieranych platform, od 2011 roku jedyną wspieraną platformą będą systemy z rodziny MS Windows.Od 1985 roku ukazało się 20 wersji programu oznaczanych liczbowo (1-20), natomiast od 1999 roku pojawiły się wersje: 2000i (1999), 2000i² (2000), 2001 (2001), Wildfire (2003), Wildfire 2 (2005), Wildfire 3 (2006), Wildfire 4 (2008) i Wildfire 5 (2009). Modułowa budowa systemu umożliwia dopasowanie go do konkretnych zastosowań. Program od pierwszych wersji jest asocjatywny i parametryczny, zarówno obróbka CAM jak i obliczenia CAE odbywają się w tym samym środowisku co projektowanie CAD, co likwiduje problemy z translacją danych między programami i ułatwia orientację dzięki jednemu interfejsowi użytkownika. Na szczególną uwagę zasługuje moduł CAE znany pod nazwą Pro/MECHANICA, od wersji Wildfire będący częścią samego Pro/ENGINEER, który wykorzystując metodę elementów skończonych typu P, dzięki własnym, opatentowanym rozwiązaniom umożliwia uzyskiwanie precyzyjnych wyników w stosunkowo krótkim czasie i przy niewielkim zapotrzebowaniu na zasoby sprzętowe. W rozwiązaniach PLM/PDM niezależnie od zakresu zastosowania wykorzystywana jest jedna baza danych oparta na Oracle, co ułatwia skalowalność rozwiązania. W Polsce system osiągnął stosunkowo dużą popularność dzięki ogromnym możliwościom i korzystnemu ich stosunkowi do ceny. Korzystają z niego najwięksi polscy producenci AGD, ceramiki sanitarnej, przemysł elektromaszynowy, narzędziownie, producenci środków transportu, oraz niewielkie zakłady produkcyjne z różnych branż.
