- Premio Jorge Millas, fue instituido en 1996 para recordar la obra del destacado intelectual Jorge Millas, fallecido en 1982 y quien fuera académico de la Universidad de Chile y decano de la entonces Facultad de Filosofía y Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad Austral de Chile. El reconocimiento consiste en un estímulo económico, una medalla conmemorativa con la efigie del distinguido filósofo y un diploma oficial. Este premio lo entrega la Universidad Austral de Chile, en forma bienal. Para poder ser acreedor de dicho premio se realizan postulaciones. Para la versión 2010, el jurado estuvo compuesto por el galardonado del año 2008, el exrector de la Universidad de Chile, Jaime Lavados; el exrector de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Alfonso Muga, y el rector de la Universidad Austral, , quienes resolvieron en forma unánime entregar el premio a Juan de Dios Vial Correa. - The Jorge Millas Award (Spanish: Premio Jorge Millas) was instituted in 1996 to remember the work of the distinguished intellectual (1917–1982), an academic at the University of Chile and dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Austral University of Chile. The recognition consists of an economic stimulus, a commemorative medal with the effigy of the philosopher, and an official diploma. It is given by the Austral University of Chile on a biennial basis. For the 2010 edition, the jury was made up of the 2008 winner, the former rector of the University of Chile, , the former rector of the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, Alfonso Muga, and the rector of the Austral University, Víctor Cubillos.
