- The Phi Tau Phi Scholastic Honor Society of Taiwan, the Republic of China (or simply Phi Tau Phi or ΦΤΦ; Chinese: 台灣(中華民國)斐陶斐榮譽學會) was founded by American professor Joseph H. Ehlers in 1921 in Peiyang University, China. This Society aims to encourage scholarship, stimulate research, reward scholastic achievement, and form bonds of intellectual and professional fellowship. Phi Tau Phi stands for Philosophia, Technologia, and Physiologia, which collectively represent all disciplines of learning. (en)

Ehlers）致函各大學發起的國內性性質之組織，並於1921年5月25日成立，初名為「中國斐陶斐勵學會」。“斐陶斐” 代表三種學術：哲學、工學、理學。哲學為科學之母 ； 工學即工藝之學，為應用科學 ； 理學即生理學，為純理論科學；並以此三詞之希臘文字首Φ、Τ、Φ將學會中文名稱定為斐陶斐。1922年學會第一次全國大會在上海青年會舉行，1949年中國大陸於中國共產黨統治後停止運作，1964年在台灣復會，1995年後開始舉辦「中華民國斐陶斐榮譽學會傑出成就獎」。截至2022年目前在臺灣總共有57所大專院校分會，會員7萬多人。 (zh)
