- Die TD Place Arena ist eine Mehrzweckhalle in der kanadischen Bundeshauptstadt Ottawa. Sie wurde im Dezember 1967 eröffnet und verfügt über 9.862 Sitzplätze. Die Halle wird hauptsächlich für Sportveranstaltungen, u. a. Curling, Eishockey, Eiskunstlauf und Lacrosse, genutzt. Zudem finden hier Konzerte und Messen statt. Die Halle befindet sich im. Seit Anfang 2014 trägt die Arena den Namen TD Place Arena nach der Toronto-Dominion Bank Group. In der Arena trägt die Eishockeymannschaft Ottawa 67’s, die in der Ontario Hockey League spielt, ihre Heimspiele aus. Zeitweise fanden auch die Heimspiele der Ottawa Senators aus der NHL in der Halle statt. Elle a une capacité de 5 500 sièges, mais pouvant être aménagé jusqu’à 6 585 sièges pour le basketball. De 1993 à 1995, il accueille les Sénateurs d'Ottawa durant la construction du Centre Canadian Tire. Après une saison au Centre Corel, le Rebel d'Ottawa de la NLL déménage au Civic Centre en 2002-2003. C'est la dernière saison du club à Ottawa. Dans les années 1970, l'Association mondiale de hockey tente sa chance 2 fois à Ottawa. La première fois, ce sont les Nationals d'Ottawa. La moyenne d'assistance de 3 000 personnes par match fera déménager le club à Toronto. Il y a aussi eu l'aventure des Civics d'Ottawa, qui n'ont même pas complété leur saison. Ils n'ont survécu pas plus de 2 semaines à Ottawa, après un déménagement. Le Civic Centre a aussi connu l'aventure du Roller-Hockey (Roller Hockey International) avec les Loggers d'Ottawa en 1995. Par la suite le club a déménagé ses pénates au Centre Corel. Lors du retour des Sénateurs d'Ottawa dans la LNH, le Civic Centre a subi une petite cure de rajeunissement. Arenan som öppnades den 29 december 1967 används främst för sportaktiviteter såsom curling, konståkning, ishockey och lacrosse. Arenan har hyst kanadensiska mästerskap och världsmästerskap i konståkning och ishockey, därav det första världsmästerskapet i ishockey för damer 1990. Kanadensiska mästerskapen i curling har ockstså hållits i arenan. Vidare hölls här det första matchen någonsin i Canada Cup i ishockey då Kanada 1976 slog Finland med 11-2. Även under Canada Cup 1981 spelades matcher i arenan. Arenan renoverades och antalet sittplatser utökadas 1992 för att temporärt kunna inhysa Ottawa Senators i NHL. 2005 renoverades arenan och antalet sittplatser fastställdes till dagens antal. (sv)
