La iglesia pertenece a la parroquia de la Santa Cruz en Opole en el decanato de Opole, en la diócesis de Opole. El 3 de abril de 1964 el templo fue inscrito en el registro de monumentos regionales de Opole najo el número 763/64. La iglesia actual fue construida en el siglo XV en el sitio donde antes hubo una estructura de los siglos XI y XIII. Fue reconstruida varias veces. Con unas torres con una altura de 73 metros es la estructura más alta de la ciudad. En el templo hay una pintura de la Virgen de Opole, llevada hasta allí de forma permanente en 1702. (es)
- The Cathedral of the Holy Cross (Polish: Katedra Podwyższenia Krzyża Świętego) also called Opole Cathedral is a religious building affiliated with the Catholic Church that serves as a parish church and the cathedral city of Opole in Poland. The church belongs to the parish of the Holy Cross in Opole in the deanery of Opole, part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Opole (established in 1972). On April 3, 1964, the temple was entered in the register of regional monuments of Opole under number 763/64. The current church was built in the fifteenth century on the site where before there was a structure of the eleventh and thirteenth centuries. It was rebuilt several times. With towers with a height of 73 meters is the tallest structure in the city. In the temple there is a painting of the Virgin of Opole, brought there permanently in 1702. The Cathedral contains the Piast Chapel, which is the burial site of Duke Jan II the Good of the Piast dynasty. (en)

Kościół należy do parafii Podwyższenia Krzyża Świętego w Opolu w dekanacie Opole, diecezji opolskiej. Dnia 3 kwietnia 1964 roku, pod numerem 763/64, świątynia została wpisana do rejestru zabytków województwa opolskiego. Obecny kościół powstał w XV wieku w miejscu wcześniejszych z XI i XIII w. i był wielokrotnie przebudowywany. Dzięki wieżom o wysokości 73 metrów jest najwyższą budowlą w mieście. W świątyni znajduje się obraz Matki Boskiej Opolskiej, sprowadzony tu na stałe w 1702 r. z Piekar Śląskich. (pl)
