- The Ontario Sportsman Series is a Canadian stock car racing series, that tours across short tracks, both asphalt and dirt, across Ontario. The series is sanctioned by the National Stock Car Association. The Series was founded in 2007, as the unofficial successor to the CASCAR Sportsman Series, after NASCAR purchased CASCAR. Originally partnered with CASCAR, when the purchase was announced, it became apparent that there would be no equivalent of the former CASCAR Sportsman Series. The first title sponsor was Castrol Canada, which came aboard in the inaugural season. In January 2009, Lucas Oil came on board as the title sponsor and the series was named The Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup until the 2020 season. For the 2022 season, the series will have a new title sponsor, which will be announced. Originally, Ontario Sportsman Series events featured a twin 50 lap format until 2011, when it was changed to a 100 lap feature format. For 2022, the Ontario Sportsman Series will feature ten races across Ontario, and will feature the series first events to be run on dirt, at Southern Ontario Motor Speedway. In 2022, AF International came aboard with One Stop Auto Centre to be the presenting sponsors for the series. (en)
