- Nowhere Men ist eine US-Comicserie des Autors und Image-Comics-Chefredakteurs Eric Stephenson und Zeichners Nate Bellegarde, die seit November 2012 bei Image Comics läuft. Das Erscheinen der ursprünglich geplanten zwölf Bände wurde durch verschiedene Gründe immer wieder verzögert. Der Hauptgrund war die Erkrankung des Zeichners Nate Bellegarde, wodurch bereits Band sechs um mehrere Monate auf Oktober 2013 verschoben werden musste. Nach einer Pause von zwei Jahren wurde die Serie im Januar 2016 mit dem neuen Zeichner Dave Taylor wieder aufgenommen. Nachdem die Bände sieben bis elf planmäßig erschienen, ist Band zwölf bereits wieder um mehrere Monate verspätet, mit einem aktuell geplanten Erscheinungstermin von Februar 2018. Hierfür wurden von Taylor ebenfalls gesundheitliche Gründe angeführt. Bis Juni 2017 sind elf Hefte (auf Englisch), und ein Sammelband (Heft 1–6, auf Englisch und Deutsch) erschienen. - Nowhere Men is a comic book series written by Eric Stephenson. The first six issues were drawn by Nate Bellegarde, colored by Jordie Bellaire, lettered by Fonografix (Steven Finch), and published by Image Comics. As of issue 7, Dave Taylor has replaced Nate Bellegarde, who no longer is part of the creative team. Emi Lenox also joined up, providing short comics about Monica Strange, one of the characters of Nowhere Men. The series centers on a fictional world where a group of four scientists, long since gone their own ways, have had huge cultural influences in a way similar to that of The Beatles in our world. It's loosely based on the story of the British Invasion, especially how The Beatles stood out. The promotional tagline, "Science is the new Rock-N-Roll", exemplifies this. The name is derived primarily from the fact that things just seem to come out of nowhere for the scientists, although there are other plot points that the name is based on as well. It was also influenced by the Beatles song "Nowhere Man". Nowhere Men was nominated for four Eisner Awards in 2014, of which it won one: Jordie Bellaire won the award for Best Colorist for her work on several titles, including Nowhere Men. As of May 2021, eleven issues have been published, the first six of which form the completed first arc. No universo ficcional elaborado por Stephenson, cientistas são tão famosos quanto os rock stars e os demais astros da música. Quatro cientistas - Dade Ellis, Emerson Strange, Simon Grimshaw e Thomas Walker - formaram o equivalente aos Beatles com a fundação da "World Corp", a mais influente e poderosa empresa dedicada à pesquisas científicas, mas, de forma similar ao que ocorrera com a banda, deixaram de trabalhar juntos não por diferenças criativas, mas por "diferenças ideológicas". "A ciência é o novo rock and roll" é o slogan utilizado pela série, que, marcada por atrasos e mudanças no seu cronograma de publicação, teve apenas seis edições publicadas entre novembro de 2012 e outubro de 2013. A publicação da sétima edição fora anunciada para janeiro de 2014 - ano em que Nowhere Men e os profissionais responsáveis pela sua produção acumulariam quatro indicações ao Eisner Award: a série seria indicada na categoria de "Melhor Série", Stephenson à categoria de "Melhor Escritor", Bellegarde à categoria de "Melhor Desenhista" e Bellaire à categoria de "Melhor Colorista".
