North Tayside was a constituency of the Scottish Parliament (Holyrood). It elected one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) by the plurality (first past the post) method of election. Also, however, it was one of nine constituencies in the Mid Scotland and Fife electoral region, which elects seven additional members, in addition to nine constituency MSPs, to produce a form of proportional representation for the region as a whole.

Er wurde 1999 als einer von neun Wahlkreisen der Wahlregion Mid Scotland and Fife eingeführt, die im Zuge der Revision der Wahlkreise im Jahre 2011 neu zugeschnitten wurde und weiterhin neun Wahlkreise umfasst. Hierbei wurde der Wahlkreis North Tayside abgeschafft. Bezogen auf die Fläche war er der größte Wahlkreis der Wahlregion und umfasste im Wesentlichen dünnbesiedelte, ländliche Gebiete der Council Areas Angus und Perth and Kinross mit den Städten Brechin, Forfar und Pitlochry. Die Gebiete des ehemaligen Wahlkreises sind weitgehend in dem neuen Wahlkreis Perthshire North aufgegangen. Bei Zensuserhebung 2001 lebten insgesamt 77.530 Personen innerhalb seiner Grenzen.
