- The Research, Innovation, and Dissemination Center for Neuromathematics (RIDC NeuroMat, or simply NeuroMat) is a Brazilian research center established in 2013 at the University of São Paulo that is dedicated to integrating mathematical modeling and theoretical neuroscience. Among the core missions of NeuroMat are the creation of a new mathematical system to understanding neural data and the development of neuroscientific open-source computational tools, keeping an active role under the context of open knowledge, open science and scientific dissemination. The research center is headed by Antonio Galves, from USP's Institute of Mathematics and Statistics, and is funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). As of 2019, the co-principal investigators are (USP), (USP/UBA), (UNICAMP), (USP), Jorge Stolfi (UNICAMP), and (UFRJ). Ernst W. Hamburger (USP) was the former director of scientific dissemination. NeuroMat's International Advisory Board consists of David R. Brillinger (UC Berkeley), (NIH), (Jülich), Francesco Guerra (La Sapienza), Wojciech Szpankowski (Purdue). (en)
- O Centro de Pesquisa, Inovação e Difusão em Neuromatemática (abreviado CEPID NeuroMat, também conhecido apenas por NeuroMat) é um centro universitário de pesquisa científica, estabelecido em 2013 no Instituto de Matemática e Estatística da Universidade de São Paulo, com objetivo de desenvolver e aplicar o projeto de neuromatemática, através da modelagem matemática no estudo do funcionamento do cérebro e análise de dados neurobiológicos, sob coordenação do matemático Antonio Galves com financiamento da Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP). O CEPID NeuroMat reúne pesquisadores em matemática, ciência da computação, estatística, neurociência, biologia, física e comunicação, entre outros, de universidades brasileiras e estrangeiras. O projeto se embasa na ideia de que a neurociência desenvolveu ferramentas para gerar bases de dados a partir de recursos experimentais, mas não tem o quadro conceitual adequado para analisá-la, usando a matemática para conectar tais dados observados e análises mais abstratas. O NeuroMat também é um centro de pesquisa que defende o conhecimento livre e a ciência aberta. (pt)
