- Die Nederlandse Wereldwijde Studenten (auf deutsch: Niederländische Studenten Weltweit), abgekürzt NWS, ist eine niederländische Studentenorganisation. NWS bildet ein weltweites Netzwerk für alle niederländischen Studenten, die ehemals, aktuell oder zukünftig an einer Universität oder Fachhochschule im Ausland eingeschrieben sind. Es bildet ein Forum für gemeinsame Aktivitäten und soll mit Regierung, Privatsektor und Gesellschaft der Niederlande zusammenarbeiten. NWS Clubs machen einen Großteil des NWS Netzwerks aus. Sie organisieren lokale Aktivitäten, borrels und niederländische gezelligheid an den Unis außerhalb der Niederlande. NWS Clubs sind unter anderem an den Universitäten Harvard, Caltech, Cornell, New York University, Paris, Oxford, Cambridge, LSE in London, dem Europäischen Hochschulinstitut in Florenz, und dem Europakolleg in Brügge aktiv. Zusätzlich unterhält NWS im Internet eine Datenbank mit den Details aller niederländischen Studenten, die aktuell oder ehemals an einer ausländischen Universität eingeschrieben sind. Dieses Netzwerk bietet seinen Teilnehmern Zugang zu Kontakten vor Ort, Informationen und Auskünften zu Studiengängen und Ländern, um so ein Studium im Ausland oder die Rückkehr in die Niederlande zu unterstützen und zu erleichtern. NWS wurde 2007 von und für Studenten ins Leben gerufen und wird ausnahmslos von Ehrenamtlichen betrieben. Es erhält Unterstützung von , DUO und mehreren niederländischen multinationalen Unternehmen. - Netherlands Worldwide Students (Dutch: Nederlandse Wereldwijde Studenten), NWS for short, is a Dutch student organisation NWS forms a worldwide network of Dutch students currently, formerly and prospectively enrolled at foreign universities or professional schools. It offers a platform for joint activities and bridges the gap to the government, private sector, academic sector and society of the Netherlands. Most importantly, NWS tries to maintain a strong connection between Dutch students abroad and the Netherlands, and vice versa. Integral to this mission is making sure that the voices of Dutch students abroad are being heard in policy debates and that the value of studying abroad is appreciated from an individual, economic and societal perspective. NWS Clubs form an integral part of the NWS network, offering local activities, seminars, borrels and Dutch gezelligheid at universities outside of the Netherlands. NWS Clubs are active at Harvard, Cornell, Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, Paris and Bruges, amongst others. In addition, NWS maintains an online database of Dutch students currently or formerly enrolled at foreign universities. This network provides its participants access to local contacts, knowledge and advice in any sector or country to facilitate studying abroad or returning to the Netherlands. NWS also has its own Wiki-based site, for user-generated information on studying abroad, foreign universities, financial aid and such. NWS was founded in 2007 by and for students and is completely run by volunteers. It is registered as a charity and receives support from Nuffic, the , as well as several Dutch multinationals through sponsorship for events. As part of their activities, NWS conducts research on studying abroad through surveys among its members. The findings are presented in the "NWS-onderzoek" research report, which is published every other year. After publicatiosen, the report is presented to a representative of the Dutch government. Previous representatives to receive the report include and former State Secretary of Education Halbe Zijlstra. In past years, the research report has focused on obstacles for Dutch students in going abroad and returning to the Netherlands. Over the past few years, NWS has increasingly become involved in informing Dutch secondary school and university students about the opportunities for studying abroad. (en)
- Nederlandse Wereldwijde Studenten (Engels: Netherlands Worldwide Students), afgekort NWS, is een Nederlandse stichting gevestigd in Amsterdam. Het vormt een wereldwijd verband van Nederlandse studenten die een volledige studie in het buitenland volgen of hebben gevolgd, biedt een platform voor gezamenlijke activiteiten en slaat een brug naar overheid, bedrijfsleven, onderwijs en maatschappij. Stichting Nederlandse Wereldwijde Studenten werd gesticht in 2007 voor en door studenten, en werd in eerste instantie afgekort tot NEWS. In de zomer van 2012 werd een naamswijziging doorgevoerd, sindsdien staat de organisatie bekend als NWS. Er zijn ruim 3500 (oud)studenten aangesloten bij de stichting, die volledig door vrijwilligers wordt gerund. NWS ontvangt steun van (onder andere) de Nuffic, het Ministerie van Onderwijs, Cultuur en Wetenschap en het Nederlandse bedrijfsleven. De studenten die deel uitmaken van het NWS-netwerk komen uit meer dan 30 verschillende landen. (nl)
