- Das NOS-Stereosystem beschreibt eine besondere Mikrofonanordnung für die Tonaufnahme in Lautsprecherstereofonie. Diese Mikrofonierung wurde um das Jahr 1960 von Toningenieuren des niederländischen Rundfunks, genannt Nederlandse Omroep Stichting, entwickelt. Darum der Name NOS. Durch eine Reihe praktischer Versuche fanden sie ein Stereo-Hauptmikrofonsystem, das eine recht gleichmäßige Verteilung der Phantomschallquellen auf der Stereo-Lautsprecherbasis als Hörereignisrichtung (Schalleinfallswinkel) ergibt, bei einem wirksamen Aufnahmebereich des Mikrofonsystems von ±40,5° = 81°. Dieses System wurde empirisch mit zwei Kleinmembranmikrofonen mit Nierencharakteristik festgelegt. Es ergab sich hierbei ein Gesamt-Achsenwinkel, der mit α = ±45° = 90° nach außen gewinkelt ist und eine Mikrofonbasis von a = 30 cm hat. Bei der Bildung der jeweiligen Hörereignisrichtung wirken frequenzneutrale Interchannel-Pegeldifferenzen ∆ L und gleichsinnige Interchannel-Laufzeitdifferenzen ∆ t als Lautsprechersignale zusammen. Diese Aufnahmetechnik wird gemischte Stereofonie oder Äquivalenz-Stereofonie genannt. Somit wird gleichzeitig die Intensitätsstereofonie und die Laufzeitstereofonie angewendet. Das Verwenden dieser Signalunterschiede wird mit Äquivalenz bezeichnet. Üblicherweise muss dieses spezielle Mikrofonsystem vom Toningenieur aus zwei Einzel-Kleinmembranmikrofonen zusammengesetzt werden. Großmembranmikrofone sollten wegen der unausgeglichenen Richtcharakteristiken bei verschiedenen Frequenzen nicht dazu verwendet werden. Es erscheint ratsam, selbst mit den beiden Parametern Achsenwinkel α für Δ L und Mikrofonbasis a für Δ t zu experimentieren.Eine Tonaufnahme mit einem Hauptmikrofonsystem wird häufig noch durch Stützmikrofone ergänzt. - The NOS stereo technique is a method of capturing stereo sound. The Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS, English: Dutch Broadcast Foundation) found a stereo main microphone system by a number of practical attempts in the 1960s. This system resulted in a quite even distribution of the phantom sources (hearing event direction) on the stereo loudspeaker base, with two small cardioid characteristic microphones, and a recording angle of the microphone system of ±40.5° = 81°. This system got empirical an axle angle of α = ±45° = 90° and a microphone distance (microphone basis) of a = 30 cm. With this system are frequency-independent level differences effective and time of arrival differences working together in the same direction as interchannel signals (interchannel loudspeaker signals). This technique leads to a realistic stereo effect and has a reasonable mono-compatibility. These interchannel differences have nothing to do with interaural differences which come only from artificial head recordings. Even the spacing of a = 30 cm has nothing to do with human ear distance, because a useful microphone system for a set of stereo loudspeakers should be developed and not for ear phones. This recording technology is called mixed stereo or equivalence stereo. Usually this special microphone system must be built up from two single small diaphragm microphones. One should not use double diaphragm microphones because of the produced unbalanced directional characteristics and the larger phase responses. It appears advisable to experiment with the two parameters the axle angle α and the microphone basis a to which there are practical microphone mounting devices. A similar technique is known as the ORTF stereo technique, devised by the French ORTF. With this technique is the angle between the microphone axes α = ± 55° = 110° and the distance between the microphones (microphone basis) is in this case a = 17 cm and gives a total recording angle of 96°. The choice between one and the other depends on the recording angle of the microphone system and not on the distance to and the width of the sound source, the orchestra angle. (en)
- Het NOS-Stereosysteem omvat een bijzondere microfoontoepassing voor stereofonische geluidsopnames. Dit systeem werd eind jaren 60 door geluidstechnici van de NOS ontwikkeld. Een voorbeeld van toepassing van dit microfoonsysteem is bij klassieke muziekopnames. Door een serie van praktische tests ontdekten geluidstechnici van de NOS een stereo-hoofdmicrofoonsysteem dat een gelijkmatige verdeling van de fantoom geluidsbron over de stereo luidsprekers verschaft bij een werkzaam opnamebereik van de microfoons van 40,5° = 81°. Dit systeem wordt empirisch met twee microfoons in nierkarakteristiek vastgelegd. Er ontstond hierbij een totale ashoek die met α = ± 45° = 90° naar buiten is gedraaid en een microfoonbasis van a = 30 cm heeft. De grotere microfoonbasis "a" geeft een bredere weergave dan de originele breedte bij opname. Bij de totstandkoming van de hooreigenschappen werken frequentie-afhankelijke piekdifferenties ∆ L en gelijkmatige looptijd-differenties ∆ t als (luidsprekersignalen) samen. Deze opnametechniek wordt gemengde stereofonie of genoemd. Hiermee wordt gelijktijdig de en de gebruikt. Gebruikelijkerwijze moet dit speciaal microfoonsysteen door de geluidstechicus door twee enkele microfoons samengesteld worden. Dubbel membraanmicrofoons kunnen hiervoor wegens de ongeschikte Richtkarakteristiek en de grotere fasegang niet gebruikt worden. Het is raadzaam zelf met de beide parameterische ashoeken α en microfoonhoek a te experimenteren om zo de juiste klank te verkrijgen. (nl)
