- Mount Hassel ist ein 2390 m hoher und felsiger Berggipfel in der antarktischen Ross Dependency. Im Königin-Maud-Gebirge ist er der nordöstlichste Gipfel des Massivs am Kopfende des Amundsen-Gletschers. Der norwegische Polarforscher Roald Amundsen benannte im Zuge seiner Südpolexpedition (1910–1912) eine Reihe grob kartierter Gipfel in der Umgebung des hier beschriebenen Bergs. Namensgeber hier ist der Norweger Sverre Hassel (1876–1928), der gemeinsam mit Amundsen und drei weiteren Expeditionsteilnehmern am 14. Dezember 1912 als erste Menschen den geographischen Südpol erreichte. Der United States Geological Survey kartierte ihn anhand eigener Vermessungen und Luftaufnahmen der United States Navy aus den Jahren von 1960 bis 1964. (de)
- Mount Hassel (86°28′S 164°28′W / 86.467°S 164.467°W) is a rock peak 2,390 metres (7,840 ft) high, the northeasternmost summit of the massif at the head of Amundsen Glacier, in the Queen Maud Mountains of Antarctica. In November 1911, a number of mountain peaks in this general vicinity were observed and rudely positioned by the South Pole Party under Roald Amundsen. Amundsen named one of them for Sverre Hassel, a member of the party. The peak described was mapped by the United States Geological Survey from surveys and U.S. Navy aerial photography, 1960–64. For the sake of historical continuity and to commemorate the Norwegian exploration in this area, the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names has selected this feature to be designated Mount Hassel. Other peaks in the massif have also been named for members of Amundsen's South Pole Party. (en)

Nel novembre 1911, un gruppo di picchi montuosi in quest'area fu osservato e grossolanamente posizionato dal gruppo sud della spedizione antartica guidata dall'esploratore polare norvegese Roald Amundsen. Uno di questi picchi fu denominato da Amundsen in onore di Sverre Hassel (1876–1928), che insieme ad Amundsen e a altri tre membri del gruppo, furono i primi uomini a raggiungere il Polo Sud il 14 dicembre 1912. Il picco fu poi mappato dall'United States Geological Survey sulla base di foto aeree scattate dalla U.S. Navy nel periodo 1960-64.
