- Mount Cole ist ein 1400 m hoher Berg im Königin-Maud-Gebirge der antarktischen Ross Dependency. Teilnehmer der US-amerikanischen Operation Highjump (1946–1947) entdeckten und fotografierten ihn. Das Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names benannte den Berg 1962 nach Nelson R. - Mount Cole (84°40′S 177°8′W / 84.667°S 177.133°W) is a mountain over 1,400 metres (4,600 ft) high, on the west side of Shackleton Glacier, between the mouths of Forman Glacier and Gerasimou Glacier, in the Queen Maud Mountains. It was discovered and photographed by U.S. Navy Operation Highjump, 1946–47, and named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names for , Aviation Machinist's Mate with U.S. Navy Squadron VX-6, who lost his life in a helicopter crash in the McMurdo Sound area in July 1957. Il monte fu scoperto e mappato per la prima volta dalla Operazione Highjump della U.S. Navy nel 1946-47. La denominazione è stata assegnata dall'Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) in onore di Nelson R.
