- Die Playa Montelimar ist ein Strand an der Pazifikküste von Nicaragua im Departamento Managua. Montelimar besteht aus 3 km weißem Sandstrand. Am Strand befindet sich das Barcelo Hotel. Der aktuelle Standort des Hotels und Resorts ist das alte Somoza Estate, das eigentliche Haus wurde in ein Casino mit Blick auf den Pazifischen Ozean umgewandelt. Das Land gehörte ursprünglich deutschen Einwanderern und wurde von der Somoza-Dynastie konfisziert, nachdem sie während des Zweiten Weltkriegs Deutschland den Krieg erklärt hatten, obwohl keine Kämpfe zwischen den beiden Ländern stattfanden. The land was originally owned by German immigrants and was confiscated by the Somoza dynasty after they declared war on Germany during World War II, even though no fighting took place between the two countries.
