The Mohican River is a principal tributary of the Walhonding River, about 40 miles (64 km) long, in north-central Ohio in the United States. Via the Walhonding, Muskingum and Ohio Rivers, it is part of the watershed of the Mississippi River, draining an area of 999 square miles (2,590 km2). Near Brinkhaven the river is spanned by the Bridge of Dreams, the second longest covered bridge in Ohio.

Die beiden Quellflüsse Black Fork und Clear Fork bilden 3 km südwestlich der Ortschaft Loudonville im Ashland County durch Vereinigung den Mohican River. Nach rund 8 km nimmt er den von Norden kommenden Lake Fork Mohican River auf und fließt mäandrierend in südlicher Richtung durch das westliche Holmes County und das nordöstliche Knox County. 3 km nordwestlich der Ortschaft Nellie im nordwestlichen Coshocton County trifft er auf den Kokosing River und beide Flüsse bilden hier den Walhonding River. Bei Brinkhaven wird der Fluss von der überspannt. Diese Brücke ist mit rund 114 m die längste überdachte Holzbrücke in Ohio. Laut dem Geographic Names Information System wurde der Fluss in seiner Besiedlungsgeschichte auch mit Margrets Creek, Mohican John Creek, Mohiccon Creek, Mohickin Johns River und ähnlichen Namen bezeichnet. It then flows generally south-southeast through western Holmes and northeastern Knox Counties, past the community of Brinkhaven, into northwestern Coshocton County, where it joins the Kokosing River to form the Walhonding River. It collects the Lake Fork in Holmes County. Near Brinkhaven the river is spanned by the Bridge of Dreams, the second longest covered bridge in Ohio. (en)
