Mirmuhsin Mirsaidov (Tashkent, 3 May 1921 - February 3, 2005) was an Uzbek poet and prose writer. Born into a poor potter's family, he began to write poetry in 1936. In 1941 he graduated from the philological faculty of Tashkent University, and in 1946 joined the CPSU. In 1950 he was appointed editor-in-chief of the magazine Shark Yulduzi ("Star of the East"), holding this post until 1960 and then re-occupying it in 1971. He also collaborated in the magazines "Mushtum" and "Gulistan". He was awarded three orders and medals: In 1968 he was awarded the title of Honored Worker of Culture of the Uzbek S.S.R., in 1974 he was awarded the State Prize of the Uzbek SSR, and finally in 1981 he became a People's Writer of Uzbekistan.
