- Mimodactylidae is a group or family of pterosaurs known from Cretaceous deposits in East Asia and the Middle East. They are phylogenetically more closely related to the Istiodactylidae than to the Ornithocheiridae or the Anhangueridae, forming the clade Istiodactyliformes together with the Istiodactylidae and Hongshanopterus. In 2019, Alexander Wilhelm Armin Kellner, , , , , and Philip John Currie defined the clade Mimodactylidae as the group consisting of Mimodactylus libanensis and all species more closely related to Mimodactylus than to Istiodactylus latidens, Ikrandraco avatar or Anhanguera blittersdorffi. The same year, just two species were known: Mimodactylus from the Cenomanian of Lebanon and its sister taxon Haopterus from the Aptian of China. (en)

Lo stesso anno erano note solo due specie ascritte alla famiglia: Mimodactylus dal Cenomaniano del Libano, ed il suo sister taxon Haopterus dall'Aptiano della Cina. (it)
- De Mimodactylidae zijn een groep pterosauriërs, behorende tot de Pterodactyloidea. In 2019 ontdekten Alexander Wilhelm Armin Kellner, , , , , en dat Mimodactylus de zustersoort was van Haopterus. De klade Mimodactylidae werd gedefinieerd als de groep bestaande uit Mimodactylus libanensis en alle soorten nauwer verwant aan Mimodactylus dan aan Istiodactylus latidens, Ikrandraco avatar of Anhanguera blittersdorffi. De groep bestaat uit vrij kleine soorten uit het Onder-Krijt tot het vroegste Opper-Krijt (Cenomanien) van Azië. Drie synapomorfieën, gedeelde nieuwe kenmerken, werden vastgesteld. De tanden zijn kegelvormig. De tandkronen zijn licht overdwars afgeplat. Het raakvlak van het ravenbeksbeen met het borstbeen is licht hol. (nl)
