- Mick Mathers (born 1 March 1955 in Perth) is an Australian former state and national representative rugby union player and current sporting administrator. During his career he made over one hundred appearances for Eastwood Rugby Club and he played fourteen times for New South Wales. As vicecaptain he toured the British Isles in 1973–74 with the Australian Schoolboys team. In 1980 he played two tests for Wallabies, but was also involved in 1979 Australia rugby union tour of Argentina and 1981–82 Australia rugby union tour of Britain and Ireland captaining the Wallabies in a few non-test matches. In 2012 he was elected vicepresident of New South Wales Rugby Union. His son, Phil Mathers, was a member of the winning Australian team at the 2006 Under 19 Rugby World Championship. (en)

Uczęszczał do Church of England Grammar North Sydney, zwanej również Shore School, gdzie prócz rugby z sukcesami uprawiał również lekkoatletykę. W trakcie kariery związany był z klubem , dla którego rozegrał ponad sto spotkań. Reprezentował także Sydney oraz został wybrany do stanowej drużyny Nowej Południowej Walii, w której rozegrał czternaście spotkań, z czego jedenaście jako kapitan. Kilkukrotnie plasował się w czołówce plebiscytu na najlepszego zawodnika Sydney. W roli wicekapitana kadry Australian Schoolboys na przełomie lat 1973/74 przebywał z serią spotkań na Wyspach Brytyjskich. W seniorskiej reprezentacji kraju w 1980 roku rozegrał dwa testmecze, przeciwko Fidżi i Nowej Zelandii. Brał też udział w towarzyskich spotkaniach Wallabies z zespołami klubowymi lub regionalnymi, również jako kapitan. Był wiceprezesem i prezesem , wcześniej zasiadając w Judicial Committee. W 2008 roku był członkiem podobnego komitetu w SANZAR. Jego syn, Phil Mathers, był mistrzem świata U-19 z 2006 roku, również grającym na pozycji wspieracza, zaś ojciec Jim był rugbystą, krykiecistą i trenerem sportowym. (pl)
