- Ο Μωρίς ντε Πανιάκ (γαλλικά: Maurice de Pagnac) ήταν μέλος των Ιωαννιτών Ιπποτών, που τοποθετήθηκε για λίγο ως μέγας Μάγιστρος το 1317–19, μετά την ανατροπή από το Τάγμα τού Φουλκ του Βιλαρέ. Η εκλογή του δεν αναγνωρίστηκε από τον πάπα Ιωάννη ΚΒ΄, ο οποίος επανεγκατέστησε τον Βιλαρέ. Λίγα είναι γνωστά για τον Mαυρίκιο, εκτός από το ότι πριν από την εκλογή του ως Μεγάλου Μαγίστρου, ήταν δραπέρος τoυ Τάγματος. Το 1317, κουρασμένα από τον αυξανόμενο δεσποτισμό και την υπερβολή του μεγάλου Μαγίστρου Φουλκ του Βιλαρέ, καθώς και από τις στρατιωτικές του αποστολές στα Δωδεκάνησα —που περιελάμβαναν την κατάληψη του νησιού της Ρόδου, όπου το Τάγμα ίδρυσε εκεί ένα κυρίαρχο κράτος—, τα ηγετικά μέλη του Τάγματος επιχείρησαν να δολοφονήσουν τον Βιλαρέ. Προειδοποιημένος από τον θαλαμηπόλο του, ο μέγας Μαγίστρος κατάφερε να διαφύγει στο κάστρο της Λίνδου, ενώ το Τάγμα επέλεξε τον Μαυρίκιο του Πανιάκ ως νέο μεγάλο Διδάσκαλο. Στη συνέχεια η διαμάχη τέθηκε ενώπιον του πάπα, ο οποίος στις αρχές του 1319 απέρριψε την εκλογή του Μαυρικίου, κυρίως λόγω της συνεχιζόμενης δημοτικότητας του Βιλαρέ στη Δυτική Ευρώπη, αλλά αμέσως μετά ο Βιλαρέ πιέστηκε να παραιτηθεί και τον Ιούνιο του 1319 αντικαταστάθηκε από τον Ελιόν ντε Βιλνέβ. Ο Μαυρίκιος αποζημιώθηκε με το ήμισυ της αρχηγίας της Κύπρου, όπου το άλλο μισό ανατέθηκε στον Αλβέρτο του Σβάρτσμπουργκ. (el)

- Maurice of Pagnac was a member of the Knights Hospitaller who was briefly installed as Grand Master in 1317–19, after the Order overthrew Foulques de Villaret. His election was not recognized by Pope John XXII, who re-installed Villaret. Little is known about Maurice of Pagnac, except that before his election as Grand Master, he was of the order. In 1317, fed up by Grand Master Fulk of Villaret's increasing despotism and extravagance, as well as his military expeditions in the Dodecanese—which included the capture of the island of Rhodes, where the Order now established itself as a sovereign state—the leading members of the Order attempted to assassinate Villaret. Warned by his chamberlain, the Grand Master managed to escape to the castle of Lindos, while the Order chose Maurice of Pagnac as the new Grand Master. The dispute was then brought before the Pope, who in early 1319 rejected Pagnac's election, mostly due to Villaret's continuing popularity in Western Europe, but soon after, Villaret was pressured to resign, and in June 1319 he was replaced by Hélion of Villeneuve. Pagnac was compensated with one half of the preceptory of Cyprus, the other half going to Albert of Schwarzburg. (en)
