- Man's Ruin Records war ein amerikanisches Musiklabel, das von dem Künstler Frank Kozik gegründet und von diesem zwischen 1994 und 2001 betrieben wurde. Es war in San Francisco im US-Bundesstaat Kalifornien ansässig. Stilistisch bewegte sich die Bandbreite der Veröffentlichungen faktisch im gesamten Spektrum der Rockmusik und umfasste Tonträger u. a. aus dem Southern, Hard, Sleaze und Stoner Rock, dem Stoner Doom, dem Doom und Heavy Metal sowie dem Punk. Zu seinen Hochzeiten hatte das Label 15 Angestellte. Allerdings überforderte schnelles Wachstum die Möglichkeiten des Distributors und der Dotcom-Boom führte dazu, dass im Jahr 2000 der Mietvertrag für den Firmensitz in der Bay Area gekündigt wurde. Aufgrund mehrere Monate ohne eigene Räumlichkeiten kam die Labeltätigkeit zum Erliegen und Ende 2001 zum Stillstand. Die endgültige Schließung des Labels erfolgte 2002. (de)

La discográfica se enfocaba en el estilo underground y principalmente englobaba a artistas del stoner rock, desert rock, heavy metal, doom metal, drone metal, grunge, hardcore punk, entre otros. (es)

After the 1994 release of Man's Ruin's first record Experimental Audio Research (EAR): Delta 6 Kozik worked with artists whom he wanted to release. He also designed all of the sleeve-art for the releases. The catalog of Man's Ruin is vast--including relatively famous bands such as: The Hellacopters, Nebula, Kyuss, High on Fire, Entombed, Turbonegro, 13eaver, Queens of the Stone Age, and The Sex Pistols, and also less known bands such as: FuckEmos, Soulpreacher, Angelrot, and Los Cowslingers. The last record released was from Begotten. The label was officially gone by 2002. The label's slogan was "Empty Pleasures and Desperate Measures since 1994". (en)

La politica della Man's Ruin era molto aperta e le edizioni di Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age, Melvins, Fu Manchu e molti altri sono oggi ricercate dai collezionisti e considerate di altissimo valore. Le edizioni Man's Ruin erano in vinile, fortemente limitate (meno di 5000 copie) e spesso in vinile colorato. La Man's Ruin ha definitivamente chiuso i battenti nel 2002, lasciando i fan completamente senza informazioni: il sito ufficiale dell'etichetta semplicemente venne chiuso a causa dei mancati pagamenti e Frank Kozik sparì dalla circolazione. Molte delle band più famose ristamparono il proprio materiale sotto altre etichette. Il nome dell'etichetta deriva dai tatuaggi tipicamente marinareschi che raffigurano pin-up, carte da gioco, dadi, ecc. Il motto della Man's Ruin era "Empty Pleasures and Desperate Measures since 1994", cioè "Piaceri vacui e misure estreme dal 1994". (it)
