- Magnus Lidén (* 1951) ist ein schwedischer Botaniker mit Forschungsschwerpunkt Pflanzensystematik. Sein offizielles botanisches Autorenkürzel lautet Lidén. Lidén promovierte 1986 in systematischer Botanik an der Universität Göteborg, wo er bis 1997 blieb. Von 1998 bis 2003 war er Direktor des Botanischen Gartens von Uppsala. Seit 2004 ist er wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter in der Abteilung für Biologie der Organismen, Arbeitsgruppe systematische Biologie, an der Universität Uppsala. Lidén ist bekannt vor allem für seine Studien über die Unterfamilie Erdrauchgewächse (Fumarioideae) innerhalb der Pflanzenfamilie Mohngewächse (Papaveraceae) sowie über die Gattung Dionysia in der Familie der Primelgewächse (Primulaceae). Seine Forschungen führten ihn in den Mittelmeerraum, nach Zentralasien, in den Iran und in Himalaya-Gebiete Südwestchinas und Nordostindiens. - Magnus Lidén (born 1951) is a Swedish systematic botanist. Lidén received a PhD in systematic botany from Gothenburg University in 1986, where he stayed until 1997. He was the director of the Uppsala Botanic Gardens from 1998 – 2003. Since 2004, he has been a researcher at the department of Systematic Biology at the Evolutionary Biology Center of Uppsala University. Lidén is best known for his studies on the plant family Fumariaceae (the bleeding heart family), and the genus Dionysia (cushion primroses). His research has taken him to the Mediterranean, Central Asia, Iran, and the Sino-Himalayan area (southwest China and northeast India). Lidén has also worked on species concepts, evolutionary ontology, and biological nomenclature.
