- The MPB is a Polish off-route anti-tank mine. It was developed by BELMA (BZE BELMA S.A.) with its partner . The MPB consists of a metal cylinder filled with explosives, mounted horizontally in an adjustable frame. The mine is intended to be hidden from direct view of the intended target, off to the side of a probable vehicle route, usually a road, to attack the weaker armour on the sides and rear of a vehicle. The mine can be triggered by either a contact fuze (MPB-ZK variant) or an (MPB-ZN variant) based on infrared and acoustic sensors, and is also fitted with an anti-handling device. When used with the passive infrared fuze, an acoustic sensor detects approaching vehicles and activates the infrared sensor, which triggers the mine at an optimal moment as the target passes. The mine can be programmed to self-destruct after either 1, 10 or 30 days have passed. The mine uses the Misznay–Schardin effect to project an explosively formed projectile to an effective range of roughly 50 meters, where it can penetrate up to 100 millimeters of rolled homogeneous armour (RHA) plate. The energy carried by the projectile is large enough that it can often significantly damage a vehicle that it hits. (en)
- Le mine MPB sono mine anticarro di fattura polacca, prodotte in particolare dalla (BZE BELMA S.A.) con la consulenza dell'Istituto militare per l'ingegneria tecnologica. La mina è formata da un cilindro metallico riempito di esplosivo e montato orizzontalmente su un supporto regolabile.Nel suo utilizzo tipico la mina viene nascosta dalla vista diretta del bersaglio e disposta sul lato del possibile percorso del veicolo da colpire, tipicamente una strada, in modo da centrare l'obiettivo nella sua parte laterale o posteriore, solitamente meno corazzata. Nelle sue varie versioni, la MPB può essere innescata da una spoletta a contatto (versione MPB-ZK) o da una spoletta attivata da sensori a infrarossi o acustici (versione MPB-ZN), oltre al fatto di essere dotata di dispositivi anti-manomissione. Nella versione con spoletta a infrarossi, un sensore acustico rileva l'avvicinarsi del veicolo e attiva il sensore a infrarossi, il quale fa esplodere la mina nel momento più opportuno per colpire il bersaglio. La mina può anche essere programmata per autodistruggersi dopo un determinato periodo (di solito 1, 10 o 30 giorni). La formazione del proiettile autoforgiante durante l'esplosione della mina.
