- «بناء لُقاح جزئيّ في المُختَبَر» وَبالإنكليزيَّة: modular immune in vitro construct، اختصارًا: MIMIC، هو نظام اصطناعيّ مُحاكٍ للنظام المناعيّ البشريّ. وله تطبيقات في مجال تطوير اللُّقاحات. تؤخذ كُريَّات الدم البيضاء، وَخاصَّةً خلايا الدم المُحيطيَّة وحيدة النواة وَالَّتي تتضمَّن الخلايا التائيَّة وَالخلايا البائيَّة من متبرعين بشريين وَتوضع في أنابيب تحوي أنسجة مُصَمَّمَة خِصِّيصًا، ومصنوعة من الكولاجين، حيث يتم تطويرها في نظام مناعيّ صغير ولكنّه عمليّ ويمكنه حمل ما يُقارِب التسعة عشر أنبوبًا على صفيحة بحجم سطح البطاقات، سامحةً للعلماء باستخدام خلايا من ما يُقارِب المئة متبرع مختلف في وقتٍ واحدٍ. لقد عوَّض نظام بناء اللُّقاح الجزئيّّ في المُختَبَر عن بعض الخطوات في عمليَّة تطوير اللُّقاحات الَّتي ستكون لولاه مُطَبَّقَة عبر التجارب على الحيوان وَوفَّرت للعلماء المزيد من السرعة وَالمُرونة بعكس الوسائل التقليديَّة. لكن نُقَّادُها مُهتمُّون بأنَّ هذا النظام قد يكون بسيطًا للغاية لِيُستخدَم بشكل واسع كما أَمِلَ مُطَوِّروه. لقد طُوِّرَ نظام بناء اللُّقاح الجزئيّ في المُختَبَر من قِبَل (بالإنكليزيَّة: VaxDesign) وأصبح متوفِّرًا للإستخدام في عام 2008. - MIMIC, or modular immune in vitro construct, is an artificial system imitating the human immune system. It has applications in vaccine development. White blood cells, specifically peripheral blood mononuclear cells including T cells and B cells, from human donors are placed in standard tubes containing specially designed tissue constructs made out of collagen, where they develop into small but functioning immune systems. Up to ninety-six individual tubes can be carried on a plate the size of a deck of cards, allowing scientists to use cells from almost a hundred different donors at once. The MIMIC system replaces some steps in the vaccine development process that would otherwise be performed on animals and offers scientists better speed and flexibility than traditional methods. However, critics are concerned that MIMIC may be too simple for use as widespread as its developers hope. The MIMIC system was developed by and became available for use in 2008. (en)
