- Lymphokine sind eine Sammelbezeichnung für spezielle Zytokine. Die ursprüngliche Definition von Dumonde (1982) bezeichnete alle nicht-Antikörper-Proteine, die von aktivierten Lymphozyten produziert werden und als interzellulare Botenstoffe der Immunantwort wirken, als Lymphokine. Diese Definition ist in mehrerer Hinsicht problematisch und wird seit den 1990er-Jahren kaum noch verwendet. Zwei bedeutende Stoffklassen, die zu den Lymphokinen gehören, sind die Interleukine und die Interferone. - Las linfocinas son una familia de moléculas pertenecientes a las interleucinas (que a su vez pertenecen a las citocinas o mensajeros químicos), que son producidas y liberadas por las células denominadas linfocitos T. Las linfocinas son sustancias polipeptídicas sintetizadas por linfocitos que afectan a la función de otros tipos celulares mediante acción paracrina o autocrina. La acción de las linfoquinas es muy variada, pudiendo estimular o inhibir diferentes aspectos de la respuesta inmunitaria. Su función es atraer a las células macrófagos al lugar en que se ha producido una infección o inflamación, además de prepararlos para el ataque a los posibles invasores extraños que estén produciendo dicha infección. They are protein mediators typically produced by T cells to direct the immune system response by signaling between its cells. Circulating lymphocytes can detect a very small concentration of lymphokine and then move up the concentration gradient towards where the immune response is required.
