Los Angeles City Council District 1 is one of the 15 districts of the Los Angeles City Council, representing sections of Northeast Los Angeles and Northwest Los Angeles. Councilmember Gil Cedillo is the current representative for CD 1; he took office on July 1, 2013, and was reelected in 2017. A 2015 referendum approved a realignment of city elections to match statewide elections, beginning in 2020, and extending the terms of sitting officeholders; the next election for District 1 will be in 2022.
