- Dies ist eine Liste der Hochhäuser in Edmonton, Alberta, Kanada. Edmonton beherbergt über 800.000 Einwohner. Im Großraum leben etwa 1,1 Millionen Einwohner. Keines der Hochhäuser in Edmonton zählt zu den größten von Kanada. Die Hochhäuser sind deutlich kleiner in der Höhe, als die der direkt konkurrierenden Nachbarstadt Calgary. Dies kann man dadurch erklären, dass beide Städte zu den boomenden Zentren der Öl und Gasindustrie angehören. In Calgary befinden sich jedoch die Hauptsitze der großen Öl- und Gasindustrieunternehmen. In Edmonton haben vorwiegend Unternehmen der Raffinerien und andere Supportunternehmen der Öl- und Gasindustrie ihren Hauptsitz. Des Weiteren spielen auch die Bauvorschriften der Stadt eine Rolle, die die Höhe der Hochhäuser begrenzte, im Jahr 2013 wurde diese Begrenzung aufgehoben. Demnach dürfen Gebäude die im Stadtkern gebaut werden, aktuell eine Höhe von über 200 Metern haben. Die ersten Gebäude die 200 Meter überschreiten werden und sich derzeit im Bau befinden sind das Stantec Headquarters und Delta Hotel. Die Fertigstellung der beiden Gebäude ist jeweils für 2018 vorgesehen. (de)
- This is a list of the tallest buildings in Edmonton, the capital city of the province of Alberta in Canada. Edmonton has twenty-three buildings taller than 100 metres (330 ft). The tallest is the Stantec Tower, the tallest Canadian building outside Toronto, which surpassed the previous record holder, JW Marriott Edmonton Ice District & Residences, on 23 May 2018. Until late 2013, the presence of aircraft taking off and landing at the Edmonton City Centre Airport restricted any building from reaching an elevation higher than 815.34 metres (2,675.0 ft) above mean sea level, about 150 metres (490 ft) above downtown. Edmonton's first true skyscraper, and the tallest building in Western Canada for five years, was the CN Tower, built in 1966. A building boom did not really begin until the oil shocks of 1973 and 1979, which prompted construction of many of the city's current tall buildings (17 of the top 20, as of 2019). Highrise construction was virtually non-existent between the mid-1980s and the early 2000s due to low oil prices, upon which Edmonton's economy depends. The rapid oil price increases of 2003-2008 had created a new boom in Alberta and prompted new construction again. Due to the time lag between the beginning of the boom and when buildings are completed, the next wave of new highrise buildings really began construction in 2006 or 2007 and many were not completed until after the 2008 financial crisis had caused a drop in oil prices. By 2008, the city was experiencing something of a building boom, with 780,000 square feet (72,000 m2) of office space under construction and vacancy rates still falling. As of November 2021 many construction projects are delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, Edmonton has 280 completed high-rise buildings, with 13 more under construction and another 41 approved for construction or proposed. (en)

Poniższa lista zawiera budynki mające więcej niż 100 metrów wysokości licząc do najwyższego punktu strukturalnego, znajdujące się w granicach administracyjnych miasta (dane na luty 2016). W Edmonton znajduje się piętnaście budynków, których wysokość przekracza 100 metrów. Od 2011 roku najwyższym w mieście jest Epcor Tower, który wraz z umieszczonymi na dachu masztami flagowymi sięga 149,4 m. Do 2013 roku w centrum Edmonton nie mogły powstawać budynki wyższe niż 150 m. 30 listopada 2013 roku zamknięte zostało lotnisko Edmonton City Centre Airport, które znajdowało się bardzo blisko centrum, uniemożliwiając rozwój wyższych budowli. Pierwszym wieżowcem który tu powstał, był CN Tower, którego budowa zakończyła się w 1966 roku. Na kolejny stumetrowy wieżowiec trzeba było czekać pięć lat. W 1971 roku ukończono budowę Telus Plaza South i Edmonton House. Rozpoczęło to 12 letni okres rozwoju, w czasie którego zbudowano łącznie 10 spośród 16 obecnie przekraczających barierę stu metrów budynków. W okresie 1983 - 2009 powstał tylko jeden taki budynek - ukończony w 1990 roku Commerce Place. Kolejny okres rozwoju trwa obecnie od 2010 roku. W latach 2010 - 2016 wybudowano cztery budynki. W budowie jest kolejnych sześć, których budowa zakończy się według planów do 2018 roku. Zaproponowanych zostało również kilkanaście kolejnych projektów, które nie zostało jeszcze jednak oficjalnie zatwierdzone. (pl)
