- Lionel Jonathan Perez (born 1970 in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian lawyer, entrepreneur and a former member of Montreal City Council for the Darlington district in Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grace. On November 21, 2012, he was elected borough mayor of Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grace by acclamation, replacing Michael Applebaum after the latter was selected as the new Mayor of Montreal. He is of Sephardi Jewish descent. Originally elected as a member of Union Montréal, Perez sat as an independent councillor from December 2012 until August 2013, when he affiliated with the new Équipe Denis Coderre. In the 2013 election, he ran for re-election to his original council seat in Darlington rather than as borough mayor, and was re-elected. In 2017, he was re-elected for a third term as City Councillor for Darlington. However, he decided to run for the Borough Mayor position for the 2021 Montreal municipal election under the banner of Ensemble Montréal but was defeated by Projet Montréal candidate, Gracia Kasoki Katahwa. Élu membre du Conseil municipal de Montréal du district de Darlington dans l'arrondissement Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce en 2009, il est élu le 21 novembre 2012 par acclamation par le conseil d'arrondissement pour remplacer le maire d'arrondissement Michael Applebaum, nouvellement choisi pour devenir maire de Montréal. Initialement membre d'Union Montréal, Perez siège comme conseiller indépendant de décembre 2012 à août 2013, moment où il s'associe à l'Équipe Denis Coderre. Réélu sous cette étiquette en 2013 et 2017, il devient chef par intérim et chef de l'opposition officielle le 5 novembre 2017 à la suite de la défaite de Denis Coderre et de son parti. Peu après, le parti adopte le nom d'Ensemble Montréal. Il a brigué un autre mandat au poste de maire d'arrondissement aux élections municipales de 2021 à Montréal sous la bannière d'Ensemble Montréal, mais a été battu par la candidate de Projet Montréal, Gracia Kasoki Katahwa.
