- The LexML is a joint initiative of the Civil Law legal system countries seeking to establish open standards for the interchange, identification and structuring of legislative and court information, especially official documents. Participated in this initiative are Germany, Brazil, Spain, Italy, through local institutions, with the goal of convergence of national standards and the international standardization of some instruments, such as URN LEX and the use of XML formatting standards and the exchange of its metadata. One of the initial goals of the initiative, later abandoned, was the standardization of a single language (called LexML) for marking of legal normative documents of all participating countries. The name "LexML" derives "lex" prefix (Law in Latin) and the acronym ML (English Markup Language) used as a suffix in XML markup languages schemes. Currently only Brazil LexML initiative called "LexML" to its XML schema. Other former participants migrated to Akoma Ntoso and EUR-Lex. (en)
- O LexML é uma iniciativa conjunta de países do sistema jurídico romano-germânico que buscam o estabelecimento de padrões abertos para intercâmbio, identificação e estruturação de informações legislativas e jurídicas, principalmente documentos oficiais. Participam atualmente dessa iniciativa Alemanha, Brasil, Espanha, Itália, através das instituições locais, tendo como meta a convergência de padrões nacionais e a padronização internacional de alguns instrumentos, tais como URN LEX e o uso de XML na formatação de normas e no intercâmbio de seus metadados. Uma das metas iniciais na iniciativa, posteriormente abandonada, era a padronização de uma linguagem única (denominada LexML) para a marcação de documentos normativos jurídicos de todos os países participantes. O nome "LexML" deriva o prefixo "lex" (lei em latim) e do acrônimo ML (do inglês Markup Language) utilizado como sufixo nos esquemas de linguagens de marcação XML. Atualmente apenas a iniciativa LexML Brasil denomina "LexML" ao seu esquema XML. (pt)
