- Leucofris (en llatí Leucophrys, en grec antic Λευκόφρυς) era una ciutat de Cària a la plana del riu Meandre, a la riba d'un llac o llacuna d'aigua calenta potable, segons indica Xenofont. Xenofont també diu que tenia un santuari dedicat a Àrtemis molt venerat, i Pausànias parla d'una estàtua d'Àrtemis Leucofrine que va veure a l'Acròpoli d'Atenes. El poeta Nicandre de Claros va parlar de la ciutat, i deia que era famosa per les seves roses. Leucofris era també l'antic nom de Tenedos. (ca)
- Leucofris (griego antiguo Λεύκοφρυς) fue una antigua ciudad griega de Jonia. En 398 a. C., Leucofris fue el lugar donde se retiró el ejército formado por soldados del Peloponeso y de Jonia que, bajo el mando del espartano Dercílidas, se enfrentó a tropas del Imperio aqueménida dirigidas por los sátrapas Tisafernes y Farnabazo II, que habían cruzado el río Meandro. Cuando se produjo el encuentro entre ambos ejércitos, Tisafernes envió unos delegados a parlamentar con Dercílidas y llegaron a un acuerdo mediante el cual tomaron garantías y rehenes y los ejércitos se retiraron, el griego a Leucofris y el asiático a Trales de Caria. Al día siguiente en el lugar que habían convenido negociaron la paz. Se menciona que en Leucofris había un santuario de Artemisa muy venerado y un lago de donde surgía agua potable caliente. En otro pasaje, Jenofonte sitúa Leucofris entre las ciudades del valle del río Meandro, al igual que Priene y Aquileo, donde el espartano Tibrón estableció sus bases para luchar contra Estrutas. (es)

It was on the borders of a lake, whose water was hot and in constant commotion. The town possessed a very revered sanctuary of Artemis; hence surnamed Artemis Leucophryene or Leucophryne. The poet Nicander spoke of Leucophrys as a place distinguished for its fine roses. Xenophon records that, in 398 BCE, Leucophrys was the site to which the Greek troops, under the command of the Spartan Dercylidas withdrew after the meeting between them and the troops of Achaemenid Empire led by the satraps Tissaphernes and Pharnabazus II. The next day in the place they had agreed to, they negotiated peace. The Persians would allow the Greek cities to be autonomous and the Greek army and the Laconian harmosts would return across the Aegean Sea. Its site was later occupied by Magnesia ad Maeandrum. (en)
