- Leaside ist eine im Bau befindliche unterirdische Stadtbahnstation in Toronto. Sie entsteht als Teil der Eglinton-Linie, die zum Netz der Toronto Subway gehören wird. Die Station befindet sich im Stadtteil Leaside, unter der Kreuzung von und Bayview Avenue. Ihre Eröffnung ist für das Jahr 2023 geplant. Die Station wird über zwei Eingänge verfügen. Der barrierefreie Haupteingang wird sich an der südöstlichen Ecke der Straßenkreuzung befinden, der Nebeneingang an deren nordwestlichen Ecke. Beide werden eine Verbindung zur Verteilerebene herstellen, von wo aus der Mittelbahnsteig auf der zweiten Ebene erreicht werden kann. Vorgesehen sind Umsteigemöglichkeiten zu zwei Buslinien der Toronto Transit Commission. In einem Bericht zuhanden des Vorstands vom 23. November 2015 empfahl die TTC-Direktion eindeutige und unverwechselbare Namen für die Stationen der künftigen Eglinton-Linie. Eine Benennung nach der Bayview Avenue fiel somit außer Betracht, da es bereits die U-Bahn-Station Bayview an der Sheppard-Linie gibt. Die Wahl fiel stattdessen auf den Namen des zu erschließenden Stadtteils. Nachdem im Juni 2013 die Tunnelbohrarbeiten an der Eglinton-Linie begannen hatten, hätte die Station im September 2021 in Betrieb genommen werden sollen. Aufgrund verschiedener unvorhergesehener Probleme während der Arbeiten erklärte die staatliche Verkehrsplanungsgesellschaft Metrolinx im Februar 2020, dass sie erst im Verlaufe des Jahres 2022 eröffnet werden wird. Im Dezember 2021 rechnete Metrolinx jedoch damit, dass die Strecke möglicherweise erst zu Beginn des Jahres 2023 in Betrieb gehen könnte. (de)
- Leaside is an underground light rail transit (LRT) station under construction on Line 5 Eglinton, a new line that is part of the Toronto subway system. It will be located in the Leaside neighbourhood at the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Eglinton Avenue. It is scheduled to open in 2023. During the planning stages for Line 5 Eglinton, the station was given the working name "Bayview", which is identical to the pre-existing Bayview station on Line 4 Sheppard. On November 23, 2015, a report to the TTC Board recommended giving a unique name to each station in the subway system (including Line 5 Eglinton). Thus, the LRT station was renamed "Leaside". Located at the intersection with Bayview Avenue, this underground station will have two entrances on opposite corners: the main entry at the southeast (replacing a McDonald's) and a secondary entry on the northwest (in the corner of a retail parking lot). Nearby destinations include Howard Talbot Park, Leaside High School, the Leaside neighbourhood, Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery, and the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre complex. (en)
