- Der Nationalpark Langue de Barbarie liegt etwa 18 Kilometer südlich der Stadt Saint-Louis im westlichen Senegal auf einer Landzunge, die das Ästuar des Flusses Senegal vom Atlantik trennt. Der Nationalpark ist ein 20 km² großes Vogelschutzgebiet, in dem unter anderem Flamingos, Kormorane und Pelikane zu beobachten sind. Insbesondere im Winter finden sich hier diverse Zugvögel ein. Zu erreichen ist der Park von Saint Louis über die N 2, Abzweigung beim Hotel Coumba Bang, durch das Dorf Gandiol, wo man mit einer Piroge übersetzen muss. (de)
- The Langue de Barbarie (French for "Barbary spit of land", named after the Barbary Coast) is a thin, sandy peninsula, adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean, located in western Senegal, in the neighbourhood of the city of Saint-Louis. - Langue de Barbarie – piaszczysty półwysep w północno-zachodnim Senegalu u afrykańskich wybrzeży Oceanu Atlantyckiego. Półwysep jest długim, wąskim cyplem oddzielającym ocean od rzeki Senegal tuż przed jej ujściem. Północną część półwyspu zajmuje zachodnia dzielnica miasta Saint Louis, natomiast południowa część od 1976 roku objęta jest ochroną w ramach Parku Narodowego Langue de Barbarie (fr. Parc National de la Langue de Barbarie). Zajmujący obszar 2000 hektarów park narodowy cenny jest ze względu na istniejące tu siedliska ptaków, m.in. flamingów, kormoranów i pelikanów. Od listopada do kwietnia zimują tu też migrujące ptaki z Europy. Atrakcją przyrodniczą są tu też ciągnące się kilometrami nadmorskie wydmy. Dominuje karłowata roślinność nadmorska. (pl)
