- LEI is one of the research institutes of Wageningen University and Research Centre (WUR). Within the Netherlands and Belgium, LEI is the leading institute for social-economic research in the fields of agriculture, horticulture and fisheries, the management of rural areas, the agricultural sector and the production and consumption of food. Through this research, LEI provides support for the decisions that governments and businesses need to make in the fields of competitiveness, the management of production chains, spatial planning, environmental protection, natural resources, the European Common Agricultural Policy and global trading. LEI also performs legal and service-related tasks for the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. The Agricultural Economic Report and other annual reports present an impression of the financial and economic position of companies and sectors. (en)
- Wageningen Economic Research, opgericht als "Landbouw Economisch Instituut", is een van de onderzoeksinstituten van Wageningen University & Research. Het heeft zijn hoofdvestiging in Den Haag. Wageningen Economic Research doet in Nederland en daarbuiten sociaal-economisch onderzoek op het gebied van land- en tuinbouw en visserij, het beheer van het landelijk gebied, de agribusiness en de productie en consumptie van voedingsmiddelen, natuur en landschap. Met dit onderzoek ondersteunt het de keuzes die overheden en bedrijven moeten maken op het gebied van concurrentie, besturing van productieketens, ruimtelijke ordening, milieuzorg, natuurlijke hulpbronnen, het Europese landbouwbeleid en het mondiale handelsverkeer. Naast strategisch onderzoek voor beleid op lange termijn, verricht het instituut ook toegepast onderzoek voor het beheer van sector, landelijk gebied en agragrische onderneming. Wageningen Economic Research verricht daarnaast veel wettelijke en dienstverlenende taken voor het ministerie van Economische Zaken, Landbouw en Innovatie. Het Landbouw-Economisch Bericht en diverse andere rapporten geven ieder jaar een beeld van de financieel-economische positie van bedrijven en sectoren. (nl)
