- The Kärnten Golf Open was a golf tournament on the Challenge Tour, played in Austria. It was held for the first time in 2009. It was contested over the Pete Dye designed course at the in Klagenfurt from 2009 to 2012. In 2013 it moved to in Sankt Georgen am Längsee. In 2014 it moved to the in . The tournament was presented by European Tour player, and Austria's top ranked professional golfer at the time, Markus Brier, who also played in the inaugural event to promote golf in the country and his charitable foundation. Het toernooi werd de eerste vier edities gespeeld op in Klagenfurt, een baan die in Amerikaanse stijl is ontworpen door , wiens vader Pete Dye het principe van in zijn ontwerpen verwerkte. Deze baan heeft dus ook een eiland-green. De eerste editie vond plaats in 2009 en werd met een score van -20 gewonnen door de Duitser Christoph Günther. De tweede editie werd gewonnen door de Oostenrijker Martin Wiegele, die net als in 2009 tijdens de laatste ronde een hole-in-one op hole 8 maakte. Floris de Vries en Matthew Zions misten hun putt op de 18de green om in de play-off te komen en eindigden op de 2de plaats samen met Daniel Denison. (nl)
