- The Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST; Korean: 한국과학기술연구원) is a multi-disciplinary research institute located in Seoul, South Korea. Founded in 1966, it was the first multi-disciplinary scientific research institute in Korea and has contributed significantly to the economic development of the country, particularly during the years of accelerated growth in the 1970s and 1980s. It has a research staff of over 1,800 research scientists, visiting scientists, fellows and trainees, and foreign scientists involved in basic research in various fields of science and technology. * Divisi teknologi masadepan
* Divisi rekayasa nano
* Divisi material teknologi
* Divisi teknologi sistem
* Divisi energi dan lingkungan
* Divisi ilmu kehidupan KIST juga membuka fasilitas penelitian lain di Korea, yang berlokasi di provinsi Gangwon pada April 2006. Selain itu, KIST juga memiliki KIST-Eropa yang berlokasi di Saarbrucken, Jerman.Sebagai penunjang kegiatan penilitian bagi peneliti muda, KIST telah mendirikian sekolah berbasis penelitian dengan nama International R&D Academy pada tahun 2001. Sekolah ini memberikan gelar master (S2) dan doktor (S3) kepada mahasiswa asing yang menempuh program pendidikan dan penelitian di KIST. Permasalahan kemudian timbul saat pemerintah Korea tidak mengakui gelar yang diberikan oleh lembaga ini. KIST kemudian melakukan kolaborasi dengan atau University of Science and Tehnology sebagai jalan keluar permasalahan tersebut. (in)
