- Komarovia is a monotypic genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Apiaceae. It only contains one species, 'Komarovia anisoptera' Korovin It is native to Uzbekistan in Central Asia. The genus name of Komarovia is in honour of Vladimir Leontyevich Komarov (1869–1945), a Russian botanist. The Latin specific epithet of anisoptera is made up of two words; aniso meaning unequal or uneven or and also ptera from Greek pterux word meaning wing.It was first described and published in Commem. Vol. 70th Ann. V. L. Komarov on pages 427-430 in 1939. (en)
