The guru peetha was established as a spiritual and cultural center for Kuruba Gowdas in the state of Karnataka, India. The has been presided over by Shri Beerendra Keshava Tarakananda Puri Swamiji for thirteen years. He wanted to start schools for children of the rural Halumatha community in Kaginele and beyond. In 2005, Shri Beerendra swamiji had organized a function, which was attended by a large number of people from all over Karnataka and he shared his vision to develop Kaginele as a Maha Samstana.
