- Lintela arko (nomita ankaŭ ebena arko) estas tipo de arko kiu ne prezentas kurbecon, pro kio ĝi similas per simpla rigardo al lintelo aŭ arkitravo, tiele ke ĝi estas la plej ebena (senalta) arko ebla. Same kiel ĉe ĉiuj arkoj, la pecoj kiuj komponas ĝin funkcias laŭ premo, kvankam tiu tipo ne havas tiom da porta kapablo kiel la cetero kaj transdonas multe pli da horizontala premo en la komencoj. - A jack arch is a structural element in masonry construction that provides support at openings in the masonry. Alternate names are "flat arch" and "straight arch". Unlike regular arches, jack arches are not semicircular in form. Instead, they are flat in profile and are used under the same circumstances as lintels. Unlike lintels, which are subject to bending stress, jack arches are composed of individual masonry elements cut or formed into a wedge shape that efficiently uses the compressive strength of the masonry in the same manner as a regular arch. Like regular arches, jack arches require a mass of masonry to either side to absorb the considerable lateral thrust created by the jack arch. Jack arches have the advantage of being constructed from relatively small pieces of material that can be handled by individuals, as opposed to lintels which must necessarily be monolithic and which must be oversized unless reinforced by other means. In small-scale brick masonry projects, jack arches are typically sawn from an appropriately sized fired-clay lintel, giving a more precise and consistent joint width than field-sawn shapes. There is considerable scope for incorporation of decorative patterns and elements into jack arches. Keystones, stepped or arched top profiles, and polychrome or contrasting colors and materials may all be used to create the desired effect. One of the earliest jack arches is in the Deyrü'z-Zafaran Monastery in eastern Turkey, near Mardin. The floor of the chapel (and the roof of the crypt) is formed from a jack arch and is said to have been constructed in the centuries BC. (en)

Plus spécifiquement, la plate-bande de baie est un linteau à système de clé analogue à l'arc, destiné à supporter une charge au-dessus d'une ouverture dans un mur, et dont l'agencement des pierres est horizontal. Il allie la stabilité et la résistance de l'arc au faible encombrement du linteau. Le nombre de pierres constituant une plate-bande est toujours impair. - Een hanenkam is een bepaald tapsvormig metselwerk dat boven muuropeningen wordt toegepast. De hanenkam vormt een sterkere constructie om het bovenliggende gewicht van de bouwdelen op te nemen dan een rollaag. Karakteristiek kan zijn dat de hanenkam een strek is met bovenaan nog een extra verhoging in het metselwerk. Ook een gewone strek wordt wel een hanenkam genoemd. Voegen van de hanenkam zijn gericht op een porringpunt. Dit punt ligt onder het midden van dit metselwerk, ruwweg vanaf de onderzijde van de hanekam op 1 à 1,5 maal de overspanningsafstand. Usata come elemento orizzontale al culmine di aperture come portali o altri tipi di passaggi, si differenzia dall'architrave per il fatto di non essere monolitica, cioè formata da un unico blocco di pietra, ma costituita da più conci o, più raramente, da laterizi.
