- Joseph Esmonde Barry (25 October 1923 – 31 July 2007) was a prominent healthcare activist and political commentator in New Brunswick, Canada. Perhaps best known as the voice of the Friends of St. Joseph's, an organization which was instrumental in keeping St. Joseph's Hospital open in Saint John's uptown. Barry also lobbied for compensation for those involved in the hepatitis C tainted blood scandal of the 1980s. (en)
