- Třída Ariete byla třída torpédovek Italského královského námořnictva z éry druhé světové války. Celkem bylo postaveno 16 jednotek této třídy. Pouze jedna však byla dokončena před italskou kapitulací, přičemž ostatní byly po ukořistění Němci zařazeny do Kriegsmarine. Za války jich bylo 13 ztraceno. - The Ariete-class torpedo boats were a group of destroyer escorts built for the Italian Navy during World War II. They were enlarged versions of the Spica-class torpedo boats and designed to escort convoys to North Africa. Of the 42 units planned, sixteen ships were eventually ordered but only one was completed by the time of the armistice, Ariete, built in the Sestri Ponente shipyards and commissioned on 5 August 1943. The namesake ship was also the only one to survive the war. After the war it was ceded to the Yugoslav Navy (1949), and renamed Durmitor. Most of the other ships were captured and completed by the Germans, entered service with the Kriegsmarine as Torpedoboot Ausland and eventually sunk in the course of operations across the Aegean and the Adriatic. Fionda (renamed TA46 by the Germans) was sunk in Fiume by an Allied bomber on 20 February 1945, together with her twin Balestra / TA47. Both ships at the time were unfinished. Recovered by the Yugoslavians in 1947, it was used to complete TA47, which entered service in the Yugoslavian Navy as Učka. It was decommissioned in 1971. (en)

Ils étaient des versions agrandies des torpilleurs de la classe Spica et conçus pour escorter les convois vers l'Afrique du Nord. Sur les 42 unités prévues, seize navires ont finalement été commandés mais un seul a été achevé au moment de l'armistice, le Ariete, construit dans les chantiers navals de Sestri Ponente (Cantiere navale di Sestri Ponente) et mis en service le 5 août 1943. Le navire homonyme fut également le seul à survivre à la guerre. Après la guerre, il a été cédé à la marine yougoslave (1949), et rebaptisé Durmitor'. La plupart des autres navires ont été capturés et complétés par les Allemands, sont entrés en service dans la Kriegsmarine en tant que Torpedoboot Ausland et ont finalement été coulés au cours d'opérations dans la mer Égée et l'Adriatique. - Torpedowce typu Ariete – typ szesnastu włoskich torpedowców opracowanych podczas II wojny światowej dla Regia Marina (Marynarka Wojenna Królestwa Włoch), będący udoskonaloną wersją jednostek typu Spica. Planowano budowę 42 okrętów tego typu. Tylko jeden okręt ("Ariete") został ukończony przed podpisaniem przez Włochy rozejmu z aliantami i wkroczeniem wojsk niemieckich do Włoch. Niemcy przejęli piętnaście nieukończonych jeszcze okrętów, a następnie wcielili je do Kriegsmarine. Większość okrętów została zatopiona lub zniszczona w wyniku działań wojennych. Wojnę przetrwały jedynie torpedowce "Ariete" oraz nadal nieukończona "Balestra" (TA 47). Oba okręty zostały po wojnie przekazane . "Ariete", przemianowany na "Dumitor", służył w jugosłowiańskiej flocie do 1963 roku, natomiast "Balestra" ukończona w 1949 roku jako "Ucke" pozostała w służbie aż do 1971 roku. (pl)
