- تم إنشاء الحرس الحديدي على يد يوسف رشاد بأمر من الملك فاروق وضم إليه قيادات من الجيش المصري وكان أشهرهم الرئيس المصري السابق محمد أنور السادات. وقال الفريق سعد الدين الشاذلي أنّه وراء اغتيال أمين عثمان. في 15 نوفمبر عام 1943 وقع حادث القصاصين، ويومها تحديدا ولد أخطر تنظيم سري مسلح تابع للملك فاروق وهو تنظيم الحرس الحديدي، ينسب إلى التنظيم قتل أمين عثمان وزير المالية في حكومة الوفد ومحاولة اغتيال مصطفى النحاس زعيم الوفد وعمليات أخرى كثيرة.وقد مثّل ذلك التنظيم ذروة العنف السلطوي تجاه المعارضة والمخالفين في الرأي والذي وصل الي حد القتل تحت زعم شرعية الولاء للملك. - La Guardia de Hierro de Egipto fue una sociedad secreta a favor del Eje y un movimiento político monárquico formado en Egipto a principios de la década de 1930 y utilizado por el rey Faruq para venganzas personales y políticas. La guardia estuvo involucrado en ataques contra los enemigos declarados de Faruq, operando con una licencia para matar, y se cree que recibió órdenes de Faruq personalmente.
