- يُقصد بموضوع الرقابة على الإنترنت في سوريا فرض رقابة صارمة وشديدة على محتوى الإنترنت داخلسوريا. حظرت دولة سوريا مجموعة من المواقع لأسباب سياسية كما منعت المواطنين من الوصول إليها. تقوم الحكومة كذلك بتصفية المحتوى وحجب الغير مرغوب فيه كما تعمل على تطوير أدوات تستطيع من خلالها التحكم فيما يجب مروره وفيما يحب منعه حتى لو كانت خوادم إحدى المواقع خارج البلد. تم قطع الاتصال بشبكة الإنترنت بين سوريا والعالم الخارجي في أواخر تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر من عام 2011 أي في بداية فترة االاحتجاجات المناهضة لنظام بشار الأسد كما تم قطع الاتصال مرة أخرى بحلول أوائل أيار/مايو 2013. تم قطع الإنترنت في مناطق متفرقة من سوريا أكثر من عشر مرات في عام 2013 وحده ثم عاودت الحكومة نفس الفعلة في آذار/مارس 2014. Filtering and blocking was found to be pervasive in the political and Internet tools areas, and selective in the social and conflict/security areas by the OpenNet Initiative in August 2009. Internet connectivity between Syria and the outside world shut down in late November 2011, and again in early May 2013. Syria's Internet was cut off more than ten times in 2013, and again in March 2014. The Syrian government blamed terrorists for the cut off. (en)
