- Harry Harris FRS, FCRP (30 September 1919 – 17 July 1994.), was a British-born biochemist. His work showed that human genetic variation was not rare and disease-causing but instead was common and usually harmless. He was the first to demonstrate, with biochemical tests, that with the exception of identical twins we are all different at the genetic level. This work paved the way for many well-known genetic concepts and procedures such as DNA fingerprinting, the prenatal diagnosis of disorders using genetic markers, the extensive heterogeneity of inherited diseases, and the mapping of human genes to chromosomes (en)

È stato anche nominato come miglior regista di serie drammatica ai Directors Guild of America Award (1974). - Harry Harris (Kansas City, 8 september 1922 - Los Angeles, 19 maart 2009) was een Amerikaans televisieregisseur. Na studies aan de UCLA werd Harris assistent-regisseur bij Columbia Pictures. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog diende hij bij de Army Air Forces. Harris werkte in de jaren '50 voor Desilu, de studio van Lucille Ball en Desi Arnaz. De volgende 5 decennia regisseerde hij honderden televisie-afleveringen, onder meer voor Gunsmoke, , The Waltons en Falcon Crest. Hij won een Emmy Award voor de regie van een aflevering van Fame en werd twee keer genomineerd voor een Emmy Awards en een Directors Guild of America Award. (nl)
