- The HMS Glasgow error is a 6d postage stamp error produced by the Falkland Islands in 1964. It commemorates the 50th anniversary of the 1914 Battle of the Falkland Islands. The error featured the incorrect ship, HMS Glasgow, instead of HMS Kent, which should have been used. Apparently one sheet was sent to a stamp dealer in the United States who did not notice the mistake. It is believed that only the one sheet of 60 stamps was produced; only 17 stamps have been recorded. A single stamp from the collection of Sir Gawaine Baillie was sold in 2004 for £24,000, and another example was sold in May 2005 for CHF 29,000. More recently, a marginal example sold in December 2006 for £30,555. (en)
- L'erreur du HMS Glasgow est un timbre-poste de 6 pence produit par erreur en 1964 par le gouvernement des Îles Falklands. La série officielle contient 4 timbres et commémore le 50e anniversaire de la bataille des Falklands. Le timbre (n°151a chez Scott) est erroné car c'est le croiseur léger HMS Glasgow qui illustre ce timbre alors qu'il aurait dû s'agir du croiseur HMS Kent. Apparemment, une feuille complète aurait été envoyée à un marchand aux États-Unis qui n'aurait pas remarqué l'erreur. Il est estimé qu'une seule feuille de 60 timbres a été imprimée et que seulement 17 timbres ont été enregistrés. Un exemplaire appartenant à l'industriel Gawaine Baillie fut vendu en 2004 pour 24 000£, et un autre exemplaire a été vendu en mai 2005 pour 29 000CHF. Kennelijk is één vel met deze foutdruk opgestuurd naar een postzegelhandelaar in de Verenigde Staten, die de fout niet heeft gezien.Waarschijnlijk is slechts één vel van 60 postzegels gedrukt, althans niet als drukuitschot vernietigd, waarvan 17 exemplaren bekend zijn.In 2004, 2005 en 2006 zijn drie exemplaren geveild voor GBP 24.000, CHF 29.000 en GBP 30.355.
