- God's Wife (Egyptian ḥmt nṯr) is a title which was often allocated to royal women during the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt. The term indicates an inherited sacral duty, in which the role of "God's Wife" passed from mother to daughter. The role could also exist among siblings, as in the case of the role of "God's Wife" being shared or passed by daughters of Ahmose-Nefertari, Sitamun and her sister, Ahmose-Merytamun. The role of "God's Wife" is not the same as the title "God's Wife of Amun", which is a separate sacral title, involved in the "Divine Cycle" myth of the deity Amun. Only two Eighteenth Dynasty queens held this title, Ahhotep I and Ahmose-Nefertari. (en)
- Gedurende de 18e dynastie van Egypte was Godsvrouw (Egyptisch Hmt nTr) een titel die aan vrouwen van het koninklijk hof werd toegekend. De titel wijst op een overerfbare sacrale rol die overging van moeder op oudste dochter. Het konden ook andere verwanten zijn, zoals in het geval van Ahmose-Nefertari, waar de titel Godsvrouw werd gedeeld of overgedragen op en haar zuster, Ahmose-Meritamon. De titel en bijhorende rol zijn niet dezelfde als die van Godsvrouw van Amon, wat een aparte sacrale titel is die met de mythe van de "Goddelijke cyclus" van de god Amon heeft te maken.Slechts twee koninginnen uit de 18e Dynastie hebben de titel Godsvrouw gedragen, namelijk Ahhotep en Ahmose-Nefertari.
